Chicago Cubs 2013 First Round Pick Kris Bryant With First Pro Homer For Boise Hawks

Chicago Cubs' 2013 #1 draft pick (2nd pick overall) Kris Bryant hit his first pro home run this week for the Boise Hawks of the short season Northwest League. Bryant who went to college at the University Of San Diego is now considered the Cubs' 4th best prospect.

Junior Lake Joins Chicago Cubs With A Bang!

The Chicago Cubs recalled OF Junior Lake from AAA Iowa for Friday night's game in Colorado. All Lake did was rack up three hits in his debut (which included a double and steal of third.) Lake was originally a shortstop prospect with the Cubs and was known for his rifle arm. Scouts predicted that Lake would outgrow SS and end up in the outfield (which is exactly what happened.) Lake has hit consistently throughout the minors and could be one of the Cubs key building blocks going forward.
